Most Inland-area seniors have poor access to public transportation, and it’s not going to get any better soon, according to a recently released report from Rep. Mark Takano’s office.

The report from Takano, D-Riverside, also found that working families in Riverside and Moreno Valley spend almost 60 percent of their incomes on transportation and housing.

The US House of Representatives has passed the GI Bill Tuition Fairness Act (H.R. 357), a bipartisan piece of legislation that would improve veterans benefits regarding education, and vocational and job training.

Mark Takano

Even before he became the newest member of Congress from the Inland Empire, Mark Takano worked to improve the lives of young people as a teacher at Rialto High School. Born and raised in Riverside, Mark's commitment to public service began at an early age. 

Today, Mark Takano represents Riverside, Moreno Valley, Perris and Jurupa Valley in the United States Congress. As the Congressman from District 41, Mark works with members of both parties to advance local priorities. Read More
