Rep. Mark Takano has a new House committee assignment. Takano, D-Riverside, announced Wednesday, April 2 he has been appointed to the House Education and Workforce Committee. Takano, a first-term congressman, remains on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee.

The US House of Representatives has passed the GI Bill Tuition Fairness Act (H.R. 357), a bipartisan piece of legislation that would improve veterans benefits regarding education, and vocational and job training.

Mark Takano

Even before he became the newest member of Congress from the Inland Empire, Mark Takano worked to improve the lives of young people as a teacher at Rialto High School. Born and raised in Riverside, Mark's commitment to public service began at an early age. 

Today, Mark Takano represents Riverside, Moreno Valley, Perris and Jurupa Valley in the United States Congress. As the Congressman from District 41, Mark works with members of both parties to advance local priorities. Read More
